Simpler Recycling: 5 Steps To Help You Get Prepared

We are only a few months away from the introduction of the government's Simpler Recycling regulations. Introduced to streamline recycling, these regulations will make it easier for businesses to dispose of their waste and encourage better recycling practices across England.

First introduced in October 2023, Simpler Recycling will come into effect on the 31st of March 2025 for businesses in England.

In short, it means businesses will be called to arrange collections for plastic, glass and metal (which can be collected separately or together as dry recyclables) alongside food waste, paper and card* and general waste.

Please Note: There is no mandate to combine glass, metal and plastic into one collection. *While paper and card should be separated from other dry recyclables, your waste collector may still collect them together. We recommend first speaking to your waste collector to determine which option would be best for your business.
