On March 31st, 2025, England saw the introduction of DEFRA’s ‘Simpler Recycling’ legislation, starting with businesses and non-residential properties. This new policy simplifies how recyclable waste is separated across various settings and introduces standardised collections for different waste streams. The policy also ensures that the rules for councils regarding recycling are more consistent and less fragmented and confusing for those affected by them.
