On Saturday 21st May 2016 Neil Gilkes, National Sales Manager for Glasdon UK, took part in the Tough Mudder course at Belvoir Castle in Grantham.
Tough Mudder is widely regarded as “Probably the toughest event on the planet” and for good reason too. It is a 10-12 mile treacherous course of mud and obstacles, purely designed to put your mind and body to the test. One of the most infamous of the Tough Mudder obstacles has to be Electroshock Therapy, it is a short sprint through a field of dangling wires that deliver a punch at 10,000 volts, definitely not for the faint of heart. (See Neil’s reaction to this obstacle)
Neil chose to run the Tough Mudder course for a specific charity, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, in total he managed to raise close to £500. The charity offers care and support for children with a shortened life expectancy. They do this both at their hospice in North Anston and the homes of the families. Bluebell Wood gives families a chance to relax and have fun with respite breaks at the hospice. You can find out more about the charity here: bluebellwood.org
