Electrician

At Glasdon, we are engaged in the design, marketing and manufacture of a diverse range of market leading environmental and safety products, including street furniture, recycling units, road safety equipment, winter safety products, cycle shelters and modular buildings.

We are currently looking for a fully qualified Electrician at our Poulton-le-Fylde site. Duties will include the design and installation of electrical systems within our modular buildings and enclosures, incorporating all types of electrical materials and ensuring that all installations meet current regulations. The candidate will also be required to ensure that all modular buildings and enclosures are tested to the required standards, including completion of appropriate documentation/certification.

We would like the candidate to be willing to learn all aspects of the role, in order to assist a well-established team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and install electrical systems within our modular buildings and housings, incorporating all types of electrical materials and ensuring that all installations meet current regulations.
  • Ensure that all modular buildings and enclosures are tested to the required standards, including the completion of appropriate documentation/certification.
  • Where necessary assume responsibility as the qualified supervisor and oversee work of staff and sub-contractors.
  • Assist where necessary in the general assembly of modular buildings and enclosures.

Ideal Candidate

Ideally we would like you to:

  • Have obtained relevant City & Guilds (or equivalent) electrical qualifications, including IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition.
  • Have obtained City & Guilds 2391 qualification, Inspection, Testing and Verification.
  • Have experience gained within the construction related industry.
  • Be practically minded.
  • Be a confident person with good communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Have the ability to accurately process applicable documentation.
