One of the most famous buildings in London, the O2 opened as the Millennium Dome on New Year's Day 2000. The current entertainment complex opened in June 2007 and is anchored by the busiest arena in the world, the O2 Arena.
The site's tenants, AEG Europe, working in partnership with contractors Volker Fitzpatrick, contacted Glasdon in 2013 to discuss a new security gatehouse for the site's service entrance. Our specialist buildings and housings support team consulted extensively with the client and designed a Beacon™ Modular Building to meet their requirements.
The Beacon Modular Building System is the flagship model in the Glasdon building range. Beacon is assembled from Glassfibre-reinforced polyester (GRP) roof and wall panels around an anodised aluminium framework. With exceptional thermal insulation, suspended internal ceilings and optional features including lighting, heating and ventilation, Beacon provides the ultimate in user comfort.
The Beacon building designed for the O2 has clear internal dimensions of 3.66 x 3.05m. The exterior is finished in a non-standard Grey and includes modified panels, hermetically sealed double glazing, exterior floodlights and internal fittings for power and air conditioning.
The security team on site is very pleased with the new accommodation. We would like to thank AEG Europe for their kind permission to use the photographs shown.
