Twin-Stream Recycling for Moray College

Moray College opened as Elgin Technical College in 1971 and is now a thriving member institution of the University of the Highlands and Islands, a federation of 13 colleges and research institutions from Perth and Dunoon to Stornoway and the Shetlands.

The College contacted Glasdon with a view to implementing a new recycling scheme on campus. The specification called for each recycling container to collect two waste streams - a non-recyclable general waste, and a mixed plastic & cans stream. The college wanted recycling units for both indoor and outdoor use.

For indoor recycling bins, Moray College chose the Nexus® 100 Duo. The Nexus® 200 Recycling Container was perfect for siting outdoors.

Choosing twin-stream recycling containers allows you to increase recycling rates even in areas where space is restricted. A single bin that encourages users to separate their waste into recyclable and non-recyclable waste cuts down on cross contamination by removing the temptation to throw away valuable recyclable materials.

Glasdon's Nexus range of recycling bins is a firm favourite worldwide for their stylish designs and innovative features. The Nexus 100 bins have removable wheeled doors to make emptying easier, and integrated drip trays to prevent waste liquid leaking out onto the floor - perfect for Moray College's mixed plastic and cans waste stream.

Nexus 200's innovative elliptical design keeps its footprint small while still collecting large volumes of waste and recyclable material. A single lock secures both doors, making emptying quick and simple.

Moray College's new recycling bins were supplied with customised recycling graphics, with the mixed plastic & cans signage in the college's corporate colour scheme of purple and white.
