Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire is the centre of the British film and television industry. Hundreds of blockbusters have been shot at the studio since it opened in 1936, from Carry On and Hammer Horror to modern hits like Harry Potter and The Hobbit. Pinewood has over 1,000,000 square feet of stage space spread across 34 stages.
Taking pride of place at Pinewood is the Albert R. Broccoli 007 Stage. Pinewood has hosted production of every James Bond film, and the 007 Stage was built for The Spy Who Loved Me in 1977.
Pinewood's QE2 Reception Building served as the site's security checkpoint, but only allowed enough room for one or two HGV's to queue at the barrier. During busy filming periods, this would lead to significant congestion on Pinewood Road.
Pinewood's Studio Services Team contacted Glasdon to discuss a new security gatehouse to alleviate their queueing problem. The building needed to be smart and well appointed, and colour coded to match existing buildings at the site.
A full no-obligation site survey was conducted by Glasdon UK's Technical Support Manager, and Pinewood specified our Warrior Modular Building System for the task. The Warrior Building System features plastic-coated steel panels that can be finished in corporate colours and a natural finish anodised aluminium framework that is robust and corrosion resistant.
Pinewood's Warrior Building was custom built at Glasdon's Lancashire production facility and delivered fully assembled to site. The building was sited and installed by our service team in a single day, keeping disruption to a minimum. Pinewood Studios are very happy with their finished product, and graciously allowed us to use photos of their building on this website.
