Citadel™ Steel Enclosure Cabinets Deliver on Quality and Price by Design

Glasdon, the UK manufacturer of GRP and steel buildings and housings, have extended their range of IP rated enclosures and outdoor equipment cabinets with the launch of five new weatherproof cabinets.

Citadel steel equipment enclosure cabinets

The Citadel industrial cabinet range has been designed to offer a cost-effective solution to the secure housing of electrical equipment, metering and monitoring devices and network technologies.

Available in five industry standard sizes, with the option to have ventilation or without for IP56 rated protection, the Citadel is versatile to meet the demands of industrial and commercial applications.

Glasdon have been supplying bespoke cabinets with the Cadet™ double skinned model available for over 20 years, however the team realised the opportunity for a quality, IP rated, standard size range to help meet tighter deadlines and all budgets.

Nick Slack, Customer Support Manager of the Buildings and Housings Division said:

“Our customers were asking us to develop a more ‘off-the-shelf’ cabinet solution. They trust the quality of our design and the materials we use to create reliable and resilient products.

“It’s been our aim to deliver on their brief and with the versatility and standard features the Citadel range offers, we hope we have.”

Manufactured from plastic coated steel with a 2mm stainless steel chassis and stainless steel door hinges, all-round double skinned insulation and a reinforced door, the Citadel cabinets are strong, weatherproof and resilient.

Ideal for electrical equipment, the IP56 rated models have been quality tested for detection of water ingress, while the rubber compression seals around the door keep dust to a minimum.

With ventilation added into the side panels of the Citadel, the cabinets are adapted to securely house gas metering, pump sets and equipment which isn’t sensitive to temperature.

All models feature a 3 point locking system, flush back and forward sloping roof as standard. A timber backboard is also available where equipment needs to be fixed.
