The Endurokerb system offers several advantages over conventional concrete kerbing methods, making it the ideal choice to implement new or improve existing cycle lane schemes.
Modular Design
Endurokerb is a multifaceted solution for cycle scheme designers with seven distinct design modules. These modules can be interconnected using a kerb-to-kerb connector kit. This feature enables a variety of configurations, meaning designers can 'build-up' an arrangement for any cycling scheme or initiative, both on and off the carriageway.
The Endurokerb system is flexible enough to fit any road layout, whether a continuous barrier or intermittent kerb islands are required. Thanks to the connector, these modules will remain securely fastened and properly aligned, even in the event of an impact.

Quick and Easy Installation
The bolt-down installation facilitates rapid setup on both tarmac and concrete surfaces, supporting temporary, semi-permanent, or permanent schemes. Along with the module connector, the system is quick and easy to set up, saving time and reducing costs compared to concrete kerbing. Once secured to the ground, the fixings and any unused fixing hole locations are covered with the provided cover caps.
Bollard Compatible
Various modules can be combined with specific Glasdon bolt-down bollards and posts to improve the visibility of a protected cycle lane to improve safety of these features for all road users.

Each module is equipped with angled white contrast side reflectors and moulded-in glass retroreflective "cats-eyes" to maximise visibility both during the day and at night.

Meets DFT Specifications
Endurokerb includes features that meet DfT specifications for:
- Providing access and egress to shared-use pavements.
- Reducing cyclist approach speeds around known ‘conflict zones’ – e.g. junctions, crossings.
- Discouraging illegal vehicle parking in mandatory cycle lanes with the use of appropriate road markings and signs, [that can be supported by a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)].
- Placing retroreflective signage on Bollards or Posts at the start, middle and end of the raised cycle lane kerb systems in areas where high numbers of people cross the road, whether at a formal crossing place or informally at a point of their choosing, to prevent tripping hazards to pedestrians.
Sizes, Modules and Configurations
The Endurokerb system comes in two different sizes with varying heights and widths, as well as individual modules of diverse lengths. This allows for flexible levels of segregation to suit a range of road types and traffic volumes.
Endurokerb 100 Modules
A larger, 100mm high x 253mm wide (excluding raised intermediate) kerb that is ideal for areas requiring high levels of segregation. It comprises of the four following modules:
Endurokerb 60 Modules
A smaller, 60mm high x 152mm wide kerb that is ideal for light segregation schemes. It comprises of the three following modules:
The Endurokerb is specifically designed for placement within a cycle lane, aligned with the white line marking the boundary of the carriageway for motorists. This product functions as a kerb and should not extend beyond the white line. Failure to adhere to TSRGD guidelines may result in an obstruction on the carriageway.
The following examples illustrate how Endurokerb is commonly used to protect cycle lanes.
Intermediate and Bullnose
Used to protect cycle lanes in a continuous stretch for maximum safeguarding.
This configuration forms a seamless, interlinked kerb, which is especially helpful near busy roads with fast-moving cars.
Bullnose and Bullnose
Used to form a series of modular islands for less aggressive protection of cycle lanes.
Modules can be arranged to form intermittent kerbing 'islands' that are evenly distributed, allowing for access at junctions.
Bollard Compatability
To create the beginning or end of a cycle lane, the Neopolitan™ Delineator, Cyclemaster™, Neopolitan™ 150, Mini-Ensign™, Ensign™, and Rebound Signmaster™ Ultra Compact bollards can all be installed onto the Bollard End Kerb 100 and 60 modules.
Alternatively, to delineate down the length of a continuous joined kerb, the Neopolitan Delineator can be installed onto the Intermediate Kerb 100, or across the join of any of the following: Bollard End Kerb 100, Intermediate Kerb 100, Raised Intermediate Kerb 100 or Bullnose Kerb 100. Posts can be spaced as frequently as 0.5m apart, or any other required distance in 0.5m increments to suit design requirements.

Active Travel England (ATE), an executive agency of the Department for Transport (DfT), promotes walking, wheeling and cycling as preferred transportation modes in England. ATE relies on the Local Transport Note 1/20 (LTN 1/20), a key guidance document from the DfT, to inform its inspectorate responsibilities. LTN 1/20 outlines five essential design principles for cycling infrastructure that local authorities must implement on their road networks and routes: Coherent, Direct, Safe, Comfortable, and Attractive. However, active travel is more than design guidance; it represents a transformative approach to urban mobility, promoting healthier lifestyles, reducing congestion and lowering pollution levels by advocating for non-motorised transportation.
